Restoring Riparian Coastal Vegetation

This project aim was to  improve the overall health of the Swan Bay catchment area. The project was located in the Saint Leonards area on private land with the aim of restoring paddocks back to their natural form of riparian coastal vegetation.

To complete this project Aus Eco Solutions spot sprayed the targeted area for Kikuyu (Pennisetum clandestinum), Panic Veldt Grass (Pittosporum undulatum) and Phalaris being careful to avoid any native grasses. Once the die back had occurred, Aus Eco Solutions went back through to brush cut the dead areas as close to the ground as possible in preparation for planting.

To complete the planting preparation for the conservation zone. Aus Eco Solutions sprayed 200 1m circles onto the ground to kill off any weeds that may have sprung up after the initial spray had occurred. These circles were then marked to signify the lots where the plants will go into the ground, for planting by the private land holders.
